Dublin: 3 September, 2019: Aviva Ireland understand that vehicles that were not destroyed by fire will be removed to a compound for collection by their owners tomorrow Wednesday 4 September.
Lorin Murphy, Motor Claims Service Manager, Aviva Ireland said: “Customers who are insured with us should contact our claims line on 1800 147 147 once they are made aware that their vehicle has been removed from the Shopping Centre car park. Aviva Motor Services will then arrange for the vehicles to be collected from the compound and for them to be washed, cleaned and assessed for any possible damage as a result of the fire at no expense to the customer”.

Aviva offers free car hire to customers impacted by Douglas Village Shopping Centre Fire
Aviva Ireland yesterday announced that it will provide free car hire for up to 10 days to all its motor insurance customers whose vehicles were in the Douglas Village Shopping Centre car park. The hired car will be insured as a temporary additional vehicle at no extra cost to the customer.Dublin: 2 September 2019: Aviva Ireland today announced that it will provide free car hire for up to 10 days to all its motor insurance customers whose vehicles have been trapped as a result of the fire in Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
Commenting Brian Mahon, Chief Underwriting Officer, Aviva Ireland said: “We fully understand the inconvenience currently being experienced by those whose cars are trapped in the shopping centre and that it may take some time before vehicles can be retrieved. It is our policy is to support customers insured with us at times when they most need our support. This offer to customers includes the following:
- Free car hire for up to 10 days for all Aviva customers impacted in the fire
- Customers’ no claims discount will not be affected
